A SMALL PRACTICE FOR TODAY
Make numbers memorable.
Memorise a digit string, hide it, then see what stuck. Choose your own pace and explore a simple sound-to-image technique.
What the research can say
Try grouping digits into small chunks. In the major system, consonant sounds stand for digits; add vowels to make a word, then imagine it. It is an optional mnemonic, and your own associations may feel more natural.
Dresler and colleagues (2017) found that six weeks of method-of-loci training improved recall of studied word lists. That study did not test this trainer or establish a rise in IQ or general memory.
A review by Simons and colleagues (2016) found much stronger evidence for improvement on trained tasks than for broad transfer. These tools are practice activities, not diagnostic tests or medical advice.
A few useful answers
Is every part free?
Yes. Every level, the image list, history and backups are free, without signup or ads.
Where is my progress saved?
Only in this browser’s local storage. Practice answers and mnemonic notes are not uploaded. Export and import a JSON backup to move your data.
Will this improve my IQ or general memory?
We do not make that claim. Better performance here mainly tells you about this practised skill, with these settings.
How are digits scored?
Each digit counts when it matches the same position in the original string. Leading zeros matter. Spaces between digits are removed.
